Setting up first iPhone?

I have an iPad 3 (updated to ios 6) which is backed upto iCloud. I have just bought my first iPhone (4s) and am unsure which option to choose when setting it up - do I 'Set Up as new iPhone' (with hopefully the opportunity to sync to iPad later) or do I 'Restore from iCloud Backup'? Any help would be much appreciated (but be warned I'm not the most techno savvy of Apple users!)

Thank you

Your choice, actually...no right or wrong here. Want the data that's on your pad, on your phone? Then restore from the pad's backup. Want to start from scratch, with your phone? Then setup as new.

This helped me somewhat -Thank you.

However the Summary of the suggested help link uses the phrase '....replace your current iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with a newly purchased iOS device'.

It is the word replace that worries me. Obviously I want to continue to use my iPad as well as my new phone but will the data on the iPad remain or will it be deleted when I transfer it to the new iPhone?

This is probably a very silly concern and question so I apologise but I did say that I am not the most confident when it comes to technology!
