macbook air not charging

Macbook air 11" not charging. Power adapter is plugged in but it's not being recognized by the computer and is not charging. No LED light at all. It used to just take a while to be recognized, but the problem is getting progressively worse. I've gone through all the troubleshooting including resetting the SMC but nothing is working.
