i did not purchase any app, just created apple id Rs 60 got deducted from debit card.

For the declined message, do you have another card that you could try (preferably a credit card) ? For a card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you are (and therefore the country which is on your iTunes account).

i faced the exactly same problem. I am from india too. It is a maste card that i used , i did not buy anything on it.

This same thing has happened to me too. What is the reason to charge an extra rs60. What is it they are charging for? Please help me too..

not sure about India, but they do an initial charge to verify that the credit card is good when creating an account, they later do a refund, so there won't be any actual charges to your account.

But it had been months and nothing got refunded yet!! Detecting amount does not matters but apple inc. must inform its user regarding this before the process is done..!! And till now its not confirm that the money will be refunded or not.

I am new user. Registered with my Visa Credit Card. I just created new account and given my credit card details and downloaded Viber (free app).

But I recieved 5 sms stating that I am charged Rs.60 (x 5times = Sum of 300rs.)

Why and How can I get waived off?

As was said before, if you just entered in a new credit card or changed the details on an existing one, the iTunes Store will place a small credit hold on your card to confirm that the card is valid. It is not a charge, just a hold, and your bank should release the hold in a few days. For details, see:

The same thing happened with me as well right now n creation of my apple id @ itunes.. it was written that the card wouldn't be charged then y was it?????????

like many others i have also suffered at the hands of itunes....at the expense of Rs.60.... Apple need not sell any applications but still they can make unjust enrichment.....

The same happened to me for the second time. After the first time i complained to apple support. They gave the same reply saying it is kept by apple as a security cover. I was charged this time for changing my password. So guys dont change ur passwords.

varjak paw is right. They just test to see if your card is working or not.

They should return the Rs. 60 in a few weeks. I got my money back.
