What is the "Stationary Pad" in the Get Info window?

What is it's function?

Hi Tony,

It makes the file behave like a template.

Open Mac help in the finder and look for stationery for more information.

Thanks for the reply.

Strangely enough I didn't find any information on it in the help system, in the knowlegebase, or any of my Tiger books. Seems this was overlooked in just about everything.

Enter "Get Info" (without the quotes) in the Help search box and you should see "Using files as stationery" in the list.
