MBP 13" mid2012 not seeing RAM serial number?

Hello,

I'm owner of Macbook Pro 13" mid 2012 model. I have upgraded RAM from 4GB to 16GB. I have installed Crucial 1600MHz MAC approved DDR3L memory modules. When I check About My MAC I can see that 16GB RAM is installed, but serial numbers of these modules are only zeros. Before that I could see there normal serial numbers..

so I checked this on my iMAC too.. I have iMAC mid 2011 model and I have installed there 32GB RAM. Same manufacter of chips, but 1333MHz. The difference is that I can see normal serial numbers as before on iMAC.

So I want to ask if it's normal that I'm seeing only zeros instead of serial number on my Macbook Pro RAM information page or there's something wrong?

Thanks in advance for answers :-)

Thanks for fast answer, but in our country we don't have apple stores, only premium resellers and yes i'm within the 90 days period so I will try to write them, but I think they will tell that I have to use Apple branded RAM and not 3rd parties :-) so that's why I asked here.

Edit: I tried to write to Apple support, but there's only option to make a call and our country isn't listed :-(

I have not been able to see your images (for reasons unknown to me) but I am assuming that you are referring to the serial nos. of the RAM. The three MBPs that I have, all do show serial numbers, but 5 of the 6 RAM chips are third party so that is not a reason for your situation.

Apple users have been installing third party RAM in Apple MBPs from day one. Apple even provides instructions for the in the manuals that come with the MBP. There should be no concern on your part in that regard.

If you still have the old RAM, have you put it back and see what the result is?

This link is a list of countries that have Apple support:

If your country is not on there, you might contact the nearest Apple vendor and either pose that question to them or provide you information as to how/where/who do you contact Apple in regards to the 90 day free support.

Ciao.
