Capture VHS directly on the iPad

With VHS disappearing rapidly and having a bank of VHS video, I'd like to know if there's a simple but viable way to connect a VCR to an iPad and record the video directly to the iPad? I work in a school and have a lot of video's to convert and funding is of course, tight. But, we have iPads and VCR's.

I can't dedicate a PC or the MacBook to the process, but I can dedicate a couple iPads and VCR's.

Believe it or not, way back in the late 80's, when I was a police officer in a small local rural community, I borrowed a camcorder from the local community college and did almost this very same thing with a 16mm film / projector. I put a Treasury Dept. 16mm training film on VHS for our and an adjacent jurisdiction that is also small. There was some degradation, but it still served the purpose. I was hoping that some innovative company, like a Blackbox, had created the attachable accessories along with a software package to turn the iPad into a makeshift on-the-fly

DVR.

Not an iPad. DOesn't have enough processing power or inputs.

You want the PC or MAC and software and connections (which I know you don't have) or find a dvd recorder. They even sell some that are made to go directly from VHS to DVD. I converted several hundred VHS tapes to DVD iwth a DVD recorder that had a harddrive so i could record it onto the harddrive then fill up a DVD.
