I've disabled iCloud in system preferences but iTunes still thinks I am using iCloud

I was having problems with iCloud syncing not working so I disabled iCloud. However, my iOS6 events aren't showing up on the iMac. I checked iTunes but it will not allow me to change the settings. It still thinks I am using iCloud on my desktop.
