Can I reinstall my previous version of iTunes? Too many clicks to get what I want, info is scattered, and no coverflow.

I installed the latest version of iTunes and I can't stand it. I want to revert back to the last version. Instead of having a menu to the left where ALL my info is listed, I have to click through drop downs to get what I want and back again. I also don't like the fact that coverflow is removed as it was my most used view. How do I go about reinstalling an older version like 10.7?

And also... I noticed about 3 albums I bought digitally yesterday and imported are not found within the iTunes interface but they are listed in my root directory. So I have to reimport? How? WTH? I don't understand. Everything was fine until this upgrade.

I too, want to get the previous version of iTunes. I have been playing around with this new version for hours and I HATE IT! I am so frustrated. When I double click on an album, it doesn't play or plays only one song (even if I go up to the menu bar and click on "play album". It won't shuffle the songs on the album, nor can I have the album repeat. The controls are screwy and I ended up with misc songs that I never downloaded personally - had to dump those.

Apple supposedly held this new update until they were sure it was complete - looks like a version of their Maps problem - Apple is getting very slopp. And the fact that we don't have an option to revert is really POing me big time.

Other companies allow you to download previous versions of their products, why can't Apple do this? I was an early adopter of Apple 30 years ago, but I'm starting to get really tired of the way they do things lately.

Maybe Google will come out with equipment that has some real software behind it (but then again, Google does some screwy stuff too).

I found a link with 10.7 iTunes. I removed all current iTunes 11 files and tried to reinstall. It boots up but I get error messages 42408 and it says it could not complete the iTunes store request. I've had little problems here and there in the past with Apple but they are getting ridiculous and self righteous with their success in limiting functionality of apps and customization of upgrades. These are the same reasons why I left PC 10 years ago to use Apple. How the tides are turning.

Addendum:

Resolved the above issue by going into Time Machine, finding the "iTunes Library.itl" file in the most recent backup. It's in your UserName>Music>iTunes folder, and restoring that specific file to the same folder location on the current machine, replacing the new one. I "lost" music transferred into iTunes since that TM backup, which was minor. Otherwise, all seems fine. But I'm hanging onto the 10.7 dmg file and a backup of that .itl file just in case...

It's a ******* awful update from Apple.

Possibly their worst ever!

And you know why?

Because it's so like the Windows we turned away from back in the day.

It'll probably start performing illegal operations soon...

For starters, it looks like someone from Microsoft has hacked itunes and tried to make it look and perform like an old version of Windows Media Player.

The proportions of the screen just don't seem right.

There are large gaps of useless space and the information bar seems squeezed right into the top of the screen.

Because I have 46,000 odd songs, i don't have a complete cover art catalogue and this itunes seems geared towards people that do.

I also hate that Go To Current Current Song (apple L) doesn't highlight the actual current song i'm listening to anymore. It's just takes me the same playlist or whatever.

I'm so annoyed with myself for updating the software, the last itunes was a joy to use in terms of efficiency for searching large libraries.

In this version, the drop down menus have the annoyance factor of advertising pop ups when cruising the net.

It doesn't seem to make sense...

The whole thing seems so very un-Apple and I can only hope with the plenty of complaints out there that they listen and make an effort to retune this update.

This has to be one of the only Apple updates that I can honestly say I despise.

One positive though, it that the ability to change the next song that plays is a great addition.

It would be great if you could do the same with playlists.
