i want to back up my music on the cloud

I was just wondering some one could explain how to get my music to back up to the icloud from both my iPhone and laptop, and the how to retrieve it from the cloud? I had a few albums that I had stored on the cloud, but when I went to find them, they were gone. I'm not very good with technology, and am kind of lost,😊. Would truly appreciate it if any one could help guide me on how to do this.
