Cant apply 10.7.5 combo update?

I have a 2006 MacPro that I installed the 10.7.5 Update through the normal software update process that resulted in my system acting up and would like to install the 10.7.5 combo update which many say fixes these issues but when using the installer it says "Mac OS X Update Combined can't be installe don this disk. This volume does not meet the requirements foro this update."

Any suggestions?

I am facing the same issue.

I just restored from a TM backup because I had my hard disk replaced and thought I apply a fresh 10.7.5 as a combo update, since I am still facing a couple of permissions issues. However, I am getting the same error when I try to use the 10.7.5 combo installer.

I have however a hint: the apple support that replaced my HD installed 10.8.2 on it and I had to erase the main partition in order to restore from the TM backup. Could it be that the recovery partition in somehow registered as a 10.8.2 recovery partition?

I have the same problem.

I update through normal mechanism from 10.7.3 to 10.7.5. But the computer is still finicky so I download the combo update for 10.7.5 and tried to install it. It gives me the message that my disk does not meet the requirements. (I took the combo update here :

OS X Lion Update 10.7.5 (Client Combo)). Repairing the volume, the disk, clearing caches, updating the system, trying in safe boot. Nothing worked.

I also tried to the terminal to no avail. Notice in the terminal output the weird "Status disabled" associated to my disk.

sudo installer -pkg MacOSXUpdCombo10.7.5.pkg -target / -verbose -volinfo

I just realized that you're posting to an inactive almost 2 year old posting, so try re-installing Lion (see above).

Better yet, you should upgrade to something beyond Lion. Considering the choice of Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks or Yosemite, Lion is clearly the half finished dog of the bunch.

Upgrading your RAM to the Max of 8 Gigs would also help.
