I'm thinking about getting a new macbook , how do I clean this on to give to my grandaughter?
If you still have the installation DVDs that came with it, you can do an Erase and Install of the OS. How old (or what model) is the computer?

Ok, in that case, it should've come with a set of restore discs... Do you still have those?
If you do, it's pretty easy, this article gives you directions on how to restore the system from those discs (make sure to follow the steps in the "Erase and Install" section).
