iTunes 11 Marking downloads as watched

Same problems as others have reported in these posts. Additional problem occurs when I try and edit data about TV show or Movie. After I have entered data and click on OK I have to wait about 20+seconds for the change to take place and allow me to enter data for another TV Show or movie.

There are a lot of Posts about the changes that Apple has made to iTunes 11. I understand these posts since the software has changed and sometimes not for the better but what I do NOT understand is why the Quality Control on Apple Software has gotten so bad that we have major problems that should have been detected by just testing the app before it is released.

The Apple Tech suggested that I turn off "Always check for available downloads" in preferences. I didn't think this would make any difference but the next three episodes that I downloaded using "Check for available downloads" all were marked as unwatched as soon as they started downloading and stayed that way when downloading was complete. So is this just a coincidence or is this a temporary fix. I will turn always check for downloads back on again to see what happens. Unfortunately, two other unrelated Seasons of Dexter and Covert Affairs have now been randomly marked as all episodes partially watched! This is starting to smell very much like an iCloud problem to me.

It appears the iTunes 11.0.1 has fixed the download issue of shows being marked as watched. Just updated to that version and then next day downloaded shows are shown as unwatched.

The update did not solve it for me. What I saw was two new episodes download, both marked as watched, and every other episode in that season showing like it was partially watched.

OMG - Apple - can u hear us ?

This is a major bug, which one could expect from some backyard software programming outfit, but from APPLE ?

I have reported this issue electronically and under apple care, sofar no solution.

Chiming in... this is driving me crazy. Not only do my latest downloads get automatically marked as Watched, but all my previous episodes from this season, which I *have* watched and were correctly marked as Watched get marked as Unwatched. So, I have 11 episodes from this season, 10 of which I've watched and one of which I haven't, and they are marked exactly the opposite. And I have my iPhone set to get the latest three Unwatched episodes, and so it gets episodes 1, 2 and 3 of the season which I watched back in October, and not the latest which I haven't watched. Driving me crazy! This is happening with all four shows for which I have season passes. Apple, please please please fix this soon. This is making iTunes unusable for me and many others.

I am using 11.0.1 and the UK iTunes store and my TV shows download and appear in the right place marked unwatched. Is it an iTunes store US issue?

Mine was a UK Store issue, although for the last 2 days it has stopped unmarking my unwatched episodes. I've downloaded some new ones today and it all seems fine. I don't have a current season pass which also seems to be causing people problems so I have no idea if that has been fixed.

So I wonder if it was an iTunes Store issue and Apple have fixed it at their end without the need for a software update. That would be a result. Let's see if it fixed for other folk.

What seems to be happening now is a show with a season pass will arrive marked as unplayed, but all f the other shows in that season are marked as partially watched.

I have had the best luck by downloading iTunes from apple.com vice "updating" via the "check for updates" process. But it's still not completely fixed.

Same problem US Store. Looks like it's the same for everyone. Anyone using the US store and iTunes 11 not have this problem? I guess you wouldn't be checking this thread......

No solution from me, either -- I have the same problem. I have repeatedly manually changed my watched episodes back to "watched" from "unwatched," and itunes keeps changing them back to "unwatched".
