my trash won't empty

I can't get my trash to empty. Everytime I click EMPTY, it just says I have 2,456 items to be deleted.

But it doens't move. I've left it for hours. I've forced quit Finder.

Goto Finder > Help > type in Trash...


From Finder Help Trash...


" Empty the Trash


Command (⌘)-Shift-Delete


Empty the Trash without any warning or when it contains locked files


Command (⌘)-Shift-Option-Delete


Hold down the Option key, and then choose Finder > Empty Trash "
