iTunes doesn't sync all my music to my iPhone

When I sync my iPhone with iTunes 11 via usb, I go to "On This iPhone" and some of the songs are grayed out and have a circle next to them, and are not on my iPhone. How do I fix this?

iTunes-OTHER, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

I had the same problem and and found a way to solve it for my ipod. I had unfortunately to unsync all my music from the idevice, what remove all of it. I then re-synchrnonized it, which copied all of my music again, including those tracks which were greyed before.

If you have only a few tracks affected it's probably much faster to remove them from what you sync and add them again once they have been deleted from the device. But I had too many tracks affected to perform such a selection. So I remove just every music on the ipod and added it again...

I'm not 100% sure how I finally did it, but my music is now sync'ing. I tried so many different things.

It was something along the lines of:

I unchecked wifi sync'ing
Disconnected iphone

Exited iTunes
Started iTunes

Connected my iPhone

And hallelujah, it started sync'ing.

I have re enabled wi-fi sync'ing, and added some more music to iPhone. So for now it is still working.

I had the same problem: After installing iTunes 11, new songs/albums in iTunes were not syncing to my iPod touch.

In my case, the problem was solved by changing the "Manually manage music and videos" option. While the problem was occurring, that option was checked. To solve the problem, I unchecked that option and clicked "Apply." Then I did a sync, and the new songs/albums were synced to my iTouch.

I just had the exact same problem.

Sus Kner's solution worked!

Probably it's related to conflicts between syncing via wifi and/or with cable interchangeably.

If you uncheck the option "Synch this iPhone via Wifi" and do it via cable, it works. Then just recheck the option again once you're done and it's fine.

This only happens a few times though...

I've tried all the suggestions on here, but without any success. However, what I did find was that the 'missing' CDs are in fact on my iPhone (I did a spotlight search) and have been imported, but just don't show up on my iTunes!!!

Another baffling Apple anomaly. I must say that iTunes in general is very poor. Transferring from iPhone to iPhone is often made very difficult. Music bought and paid for via iTunes can not be listened to on non-Apple products, yet if it is downloaded illegally and for free it can be listened to on anything (explain that one). And lo and behold if your PC which has your iTunes on it breaks (which they do) or needs replacing. In most cases, you lose everything.

It's the typical attitude of a manufacturer which has got far too big for its boots and thinks it can do anything and we will all keep buying. Look at Ericsson and Nokia (in Europe at least). Even the design of the phone is very out-of-date now. Check out the Sony Z1 to see real innovation.

This will be my last iPhone if it stays like this (which I suppose it will). I'm off to Android. Much easier, less big brother and much more fun.
