If anyone knows a reporter this could be a good story for that reporter..  The fact that they keep removing the comments from Face Book tells you they are a little concerned, not about us but their reputation.  Also it is interesting that the problem has happened only with Windows.  Funny they charge us the same amount for our iTune purchases.  No question this does not happen if Jobs is alive and if it did it would be corrected immediately.  Just look at what has happened to their stock of late.  This needs to get to a newspaper, blog of TV station.

Given how great Apple has been about iTunes (think about the idea that, once purchased, our music remains available to us to stream or download always), it is such a surprise that they have not yet addressed this issue.

I suspect that most of their customers consist of very young people, that are simply interested in downloading MP3 versions of songs to their various devices, and would never consider writing their music to CDs. So for these folks, the whole idea of printing CD box covers, does not even occur to them.

However, for those of us who still wish to have CDs, for various applications, the CD insert printing function remains important.

Most disparaging about all of this, is not so much that such a bug exists, but more that Apple is not effectively communicating with its customers, and letting us know when this item will be corrected.

I have several albums in my iTunes wishlist, but do not plan to purchase these recordings until this issue is resolved.

I can't believe this still hasn't been fixed. I've been using Amazon for downloading & will do so till this is fixed.

Yes, I agree fireflyfan1.  Not too many people make c.d.'s anymore.  It's all MP3 versions.  I'm old school.  I like an actual list of my songs in a jewel case.  Apple, where's your customer service, tell us when it will be fixed.

Apple will never fix it..because they  don't care....bigger fish to fry.  Want your $$$$ but when chips down...

service not in running..Apple way too top heavy iin management..motto should be...I Got Mine..How Are Fixed?.....SJ turning over.

It's just amazing that this problem has been on going for so long and without a fix, guess they don't care that they are losing customers because of very poor support services.

This item has been seen by over 13.000 people ! I wonder if Apple has ever seen it and if they do care about it.

Apple, please read your stuff and see what is going on, why customers are not happy ! Only this can keep the company alive ! Shame on you.

I have contacted any & all depts within Apple trying to get some answers on the printing issues, but I really do agree that they maybe think this is not a problem for the majority of their customers.  This is the latest reply I received from Support after it has been escalated.  This format will not let me copy the reply I received from ITunes Apple Support Center.  To summarize the following:

"I understand how frustrating this might be for you and I hope we have have not caused you any inconveniences.  The good news is our engineering dept is aware of this issue and is working towards a resolution.  At this time they do NOT have an estimate of the time needed to resolve this issue.

Thank you for being a valuable member of the Apple family, we truly appreciate your continued support.

Thank you for your patience and Apple wants your iTunes experience to be as enjoyable as possible."

The above message was date 3/15/13.  It appears like a pre written response which says absolutely nothing.  I have not made any purchases since Jan when all this started.  Good luck everyone!!

How is it they're working towards a resolution that was already found?

  • Tromminator Level 1 (0 points)

Amazing to me this problem has yet to be fixed. What seems to be the trouble, Apple? Haven't we spent enough money for you to listen to us?

What's amazing to me is the number of posts in this thread and the number of new names that keep joining it. What I can't stand is when companies say things like: "Thank you for your patience and Apple wants your iTunes experience to be as enjoyable as possible," and nothing could be further from the truth. They have that sort of BS saved in a key for when they reply to any complaint. Utterly meaningless, they know it, we know it, everybody knows it, but they say it anyway. Eventually, that attitude will come back to haunt Apple.

I can't believe Apple had a perfectly good itunes and have replaced it with bone with bits that don't work

This is very frustrating - come on Apple, listen to your hard can it be to make it print a case insert properly? - it's been working perfectly well for the last 8 years or so I should think!!!

I too have had a reply from Apple (advisor's name removed by me) that suggets I transfer the content to a Mac! As if I am likely to have a Mac as well. The thing that gets me is that the problem got fixed between v11.0 and v11.1, so why is it such a huge problem (over 2 months) to fix the problem again? If the car industry had taken as long to sort things, we'd still be driving around in Model T's!! (but maybe in a colour other than black by now!). I am totally at a loss as to what (lack of) motivation Apple has with this problem. Part content of message cut and paste as follows:

    Dear Mike,

Greetings! My name is **** your iTunes Store Advisor for today. Thank you for contacting iTunes Support. I'm sorry for all the inconvenience it have caused you regarding the jewel case issue in iTunes. As of the moment, this case was still under investigation and iTunes is still working on it.

As a remedy for this issue or irk around provided, you can transfer the content to a MAc and then  print the CD jewel case insert with the desired theme from there.

Glad to see that others are having the same issue as myself. I thought I was doing something wrong.
