How to transfer playlists to iPhone with new iTunes

I just upgraded to the newest version of iTunes and I can't figure out how to transfer a playlist to my iPhone. I used to be able to see the device in the column (on the left) and then drag the songs into the device. Doesn't look so simple anymore.Tutorial was useless.

The question of how to transfer playlists has not been answered. I can view the side bar and view playlists on my intunes and iphone or ipod but cannot drag and drop and playlist from itunes to iphone like I used to with older itunes version. This is the extended question many people have: How to transfer a playlist; not just how to view playlists on iphone and itunes in the sidebar.

Ok- I just spent the last 30 minutes on the same issue. I solved it!

1) After plugging in your ipod. Click on the icon in the right hand corner. It will then show you whats "inside your ipod".

2) On the right hand side again click the small button that says Add to.

3)A new screen will open and show you the entire itunes library. At the top click "playlist".

4) Click and drag/carry the playlist you want on your ipod/iphone and drop it in the coloumn on the right.

5) Then press done, and voila!
