Did you have a backup in iTunes/iCloud?

Yes, then restore from backup using iTunes/iCloud.

    No, it's gone.

Lost all my notes too! It appears that notes are not really notes but text stored in your email and retrieved by the notes app when viewed as a note. When I deleted one of my email accounts all my notes deleted and so far there is no way to retrieve them.

No apple prompt, no data except that generated by users... Extremely ****** off!

Yes this is what's happened to me, only the email is still active it's the password that's changed? Can I still retrieve my notes?

contact the email account you deleted and reactivate. they will do it free for a month. the notes will be one of the folders under your Mail

If you changed the password on your account, the notes will look like they disappear. That is what happened to me. When I learned that my notes were stored as emails, however, I opened my email account and looked for a Notes folder. There were all my notes as emails in this folder. Hallelujah!

My notes have been dropping off too, but it has only been the most recent ones.  The first six are still there and continue to stay visible.  I use Yahoo and added the iPad app recently. I found the notes folder and all the notes including the "missing" ones were all in the folder. I "recovered" the ones I wanted to show on the iPad and iPhone by copying the note and pasting it to a new note in the iPad app. Then I had a dupe in the Yahoo notes folder which I deleted.  This is a pain so I will try the Evernote app, but at least I know where to find the ones that seem to disappear.

This is driving me mad as all my notes since having my new 4S have disappeared but the ones I had on my 4 are still there.

I have a yahoo e-mail account and put them all in there, now going to use my iCloud.  I recently had my yahoo e-mail hacked so changed my pasword too.

I've looked at my e-mail account on iphone and can't see a notes folder, any advise please would be greatly appreciated, as really need to get these notes back.

Would like to tell you guys a third party tools may help - iPhone Data Recovery Tool. It works well for me. Hope it do the same for you guys.

I have been upset for almost 24 hours trying to recover one specific note from an ipad2. I called Apple, and that did not work. I then downloaded the recovery tool, as pandayogurt mentioned, but it did not work for me. After reading this discussion, I next went to and logged into my email account online (rather than getting it through Outlook) and there was a Notes folder and it was there! How it got there I will never know, but I will turn off icloud for notes and also email myself everytime i finish writing something in a note from now on!

OMG, I forgot to mention, I paid $52.00 for the recovery software, and almost $19.00 to Apple but they waived it because they couldn't help me~!

Thanks so much. I too went to my yahoo a/c and found the note I was looking for. Was getting quite desperate to recover so won't be using notes to write long pieces again!

Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone! My iPhone 4 has deleted all of my contacts, some texts, and now the last two months worth of Notes. I was panicking all day, and when I restored from backup, the notes were still missing. Just checked my email, and there is indeed a Notes folder with all of them in there!
