how do i convert any file to an mp3 in itunes 11

Hi -

Make sure you have MP3 selected in iTunes Preferences >> General >> Import Settings.

Right-click (or CONTROL-click) on a file (or files) you want to convert to MP3 and choose Create MP3 Version from contextual menu.

Note that if you have another file format chosen in Import Settings preferences you will not see this option.

The feature has been moved to:

File > Create New Version

I'm trying this but it won't let me create a new version--the options (MP3, etc) are not highligted so can't be chosen. ideas?
