The i1 display 2 isn't recognized anymore by a Mac Book Pro 2012 (non retina). It has been recognized in october 2012. I tried different software and it works on an older Mac Book. May be the problem is the last firmware update (thunderbolt)?

A number of people here have complained about problems with external monitors either not working - or not working at the same resolution - after the Thunderbolt 1.1 update. It seems to have 'broken' a few things when it comes to external monitors.
Unfortunately there's no way to 'downgrade' - you'll just have to wait for Apple to come out with a 'fix' (along with everyone else).

The i1 display is a colorimeter, not a monitor. But maybe the update has also messed up the USB-port …
Ah! Sorry - I use a Spyder4Elite - but on a late 2011 15" MBP that wasn't part of the Thunderbolt 1.1 update. Now I'm not so sure if that's where your trouble is, if it's connected by USB.
Have you contacted X-Rite? You may get better results from them.

Remove the software completely (AppCleaner works wonder), restart, re-install, restart.
Yes, I will contact X-Rite. Maybe they already know about the problem.
No, I haven't removed the software, but I don't think that is the problem. I've tried iColor Display by Quato (the external monitor I'm trying to calibrate is a Quato) and i1 Profiler Lion Edition by X-Rite and both didn't recognize the colorimeter (they do on an older Mac Book Pro).
@fgsdhzmk: Did you find a solution? I having the same issue. I've following this support documentation (http://www.xrite.com/product_overview.aspx?lang=en®ion=94&ID=1397&Action=supp ort&SupportID=5475), however it's still no longer recognized under MacOS 10.7.5.

I've just updated to OS 10.8.2 and now the i1 display is recognized again. I didn't find a solution for 10.7.
@fgsdhzmk: Thanks for your reply. Hopefully Apple releases a software update for OS 10.7 as well.
