The new search feature is iTunes 11 is horrible

First off, there is no way to search on devices. I use this feature a lot since I have a laptop that doesn't have all my music. I usually connect my iPod and just click away, but there is no search on ipod.

Second, the search feature is horrible as it doesn't allow to filter directly in the library. The only option is to search and to be redirected to the library. This is a downgrade. A horrible one, and it is worse than Apple Maps.

Finally, iTunes 11 constantly hangs on my computer. Everytime I click to play a song it freezes for about 30 seconds. This never happened before on iTunes 10.

I am confused by this- i just want to go back to the old way of searching, it seems so long ago . I cannot hardly remember what I liked about it but this new search engine is really useless...if you have a lot of songs. Please where is the disable search entire library function?.You can change the criteria for searching on the pull down menu but that does nothing much to the search mechanism..

It just frustrates me so much that so much of computing these days seems be weathering stupid changes like this. Try using Word these days. really it is just a joke. I started using that program seriously in 1988 while writing a Masters thesis on a SE Macintiosh. More than 20 years later the problem is STILL the same. On a large document of any more than 80 pages the thing just will not scroll. I have a MacBOOK pro with 8 GB of RAM so what the **** is the problem.? It is program design. Just a load of useless stuff that is not needed. Please guys wake up and listen to people who actually use your products. Why can´t people maybe start thinking about simplicity in their design instead of bull....t. It just seems so destructive to me. really over it

I agree totally, developers should not be FORCED into making changes,. This is a very dangerous situation. I believe a good program SHOULD reach a point where it is stable for a number of years with minor debugs etc. However to just dump whole philosophies of thinking like Tunes 11 did is sad.

What is happening to program design across the board in the last ten years. I am sick of spending 50% of my computer time dealing with re-learning that which I already knew. I have to do it in many programs that once were well designed, did what you needed to do, and did not try to complicate things too much.

Does anyone else here feel this way? Is there not enough on our plates trying to come to terms with all the new, exciting program developments, and apps, without having to relearn that which was once second nature in our trusted programs? Can Apple. Inc not see that destroying the faith of the initial client base will eventually destroy their product? I would leave out of iTunes if had the time to find something else. I will leave eventually.

Are designers just jealous, scared, or forced into making these gross changes?

This is a dangerous time in computing I believe. Companies like Apple.Inc were once companies that had a special, distinct, philosophy. They did not try to imitate, they did what they did and they did it well.

Are they becoming scared of the competition? I just do not get it.

DId you ever find a solution to this? I upgraded to mavericks and was forced to upgrade my itunes. Now I'm ******. My search function is totally messed up! I used to type "happy" into the box, and any file that had the word happy in it would be displayed in the window. Now it shows everything in a dropdown menu that makes no sense and take me into this stupid view of albums when I click on it.

Why??????
