Hello
How to downgrade itunes 11 to itunes 10.9 please!
I went into a Apple store tonight and was told I cant do it. I was told if I had a time machine I could format my computer and go back in time. Not worth it to me. I do not care for the fact that Apple took out the Cover Flow and you can no longer click on a song to edit it. You have to go up to the menu file edit to get there.
I didn't think there was a v10.9 I thought the highest version of iTunes 10 was v10.7
Anyway, several people have posted instructions on how to revert (to 10.7) and this is the best of the posts . . .

BTW, it's kind of an involved process. 😉
The easiest way to downgrade back to 10.7 (there is no 10.9) would be to uninstall V11.0 and re-download v10.7 from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1577. (for windows x64bit) or from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1576 (for windows x32bit).
I Can say i've done this. Its great to have fuction back! The Artist view was unbarable for me... just atrotious... Reminds me of fecal matter!
Itunes 11 would be great....for the ipad!
On a computer...come one designers...share that stuff you've obviously been smoking!
and what about V10.7 for mac? do you have a site?
it does not allow me to see it. any idea why?
it tells me i am not authorized
I get the same error... :-(
[http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1576] if you open the link there is a column on the right hand side of the page with a 'download' icon at the top of it. This should provide you with the mac compatible version of itunes, but you can double check by looking through the system requirements which is listed just below the link if your not sure if it will work on your current system.
On another note, if the layout of the v.11. is the only issue everybody is having with it, apparently it is possible to revert back to the old look, without having to revert back to an older version, by changing the settings. I'm not sure how it is done, as I was only informed of it recently by someone who did it and am yet to try it myself. However, if you still have th v.11 of itunes, I would strongly suggest you have a look through the setting options first and try to change it from there before taking the time to re-install an older version.
yes because it is hideous
doesn't work, it wont let you uninstall itunes to reinstall it. It will also not overwrite it. FML
Did you try uninstalling it completely first before trying to download the other version? If you really want to install the older version and its not letting you do it as 1 process then you will need to go into your program files on your C drive and unistall it from there. Once its uninstalled you should have no trouble downloading the other version.
Thanks, it worked
Read this (click me) article. To delete iTunes.app use this way (click me). May be you also need to delete file «iTunes Library.itl» (just find it).
It works for me, but now when i start iTunes i have message "Unknown error (-42408)"... It's unpleasantly, but not critical.
P.S.: Use google more often!
I find what is error -42408. It's version conflict. Probably it always error when install previous version.
«To fix this error just upgrade iTunes to latest version» — google. khm...
