JUST UPDATED ITUNES AND IS ERRATICALLY WORKING

just updated Itunes software and it is behaving erratically , I keep getting the spinning color wheel and Syncing to my Ipad is taking forever, I have the Mountain Lion software installed , is it compatiable with the new Itunes update?
