Q: How to get email rules work also on iPhone/iPad

Hello there,

my name is Thommy. I have a question to use mail on the iPhone and iPad.

On my mac I can in the mail program under settings select email rules to have the email right away ruted into a mail box.

I can see the mail box also on my iPhone and iPad but the mails are only routed on my mac into the corresponding folder.

On the iPhone and iPad they just arrive in the mailbox inbox.

How can I also get the mails on my iPhone and iPad to go directly to the correct mail boxes?

Hope someone knows the trick or maybe this is not possible at all to do?

Thank you for your feedback in advance.

Thommy

    Hi Ricky,

ok. I have now set up on iCloud all the rules. It works very good. Thank you.

Only problem is now that each folder has to be updated manually on the iPhone whereas on iCloud and on my computer at home this works automatically for all folders.

    Any hint?

    Hhhmmnnn

Not sure. I have these rules on my computer also, as i mentioned before. When the rules are new i choose from one of the menus... Apply rules. THEN they all go to my junk folder. This is my se up.

I only use this for junk mail.

My computer is also set up to use iCloud i believe. Perhaps this has something to do with it?

I am also aware, but not fully knowledgeable. That...

The Mac e-mail program is intelligent. It learns.

As you interact with it it kind of gets smart.

When i continualy mark something as junk i think it remembers this,

To what degree it is smart, i do not know.

There is also A WAY OF MAKING FOLDERS THAT IS IMPORTANT.

I have seen this out on the web somewhere.

For egsample. Make your folder on iCloud with mail closed on your mac.

Does the folder THEN appear on your mac when you start up your mail program?

I have heard of people getting double folders because of making these steps incorrectly.

    More to think about.

I am sorry i can not offer any more ideas, but i hope you can get it to work.

    I think it is possible.

Hi.  Try Mailbox. It have "swypes", something like automatic filters.
