i have a black macbook, which currently has mac os x 10.4.11
i would like to update the software to the newest possible, however my cd drive has broken and would cost more to fix than the value of the laptop.
Can anyone help me on this one?!!!

Snow Leopard comes on a DVD so you can't install it as long as you have no working. optical drive.
Some internet sites report having "downloadable" copies of SL.
This is NOT legal, as SL DVDs are either single-use or 5-user-disks. The fakes are single-use copies that have had the protections hacked. Many even add "surprises" that report your activity back to the supplier of the digital copy.
We cannot stop you, but "enter at your own risk". Also, this forum cannot help with any copy obtained this way.
