Do I need a security program like Kaspersky for the iPad?

I can find no info on virus protection/security for the mini i-Pad. Do I need some sort of protection? If so what is recommended?

iPad, iOS 6

No. There is no AV software for iDevices.

Since the only things you can install are from the app store and those apps are supposedly screened, as long as you don't jailbreak your iPad you should be fine. Traditional viruses - a virus being a malicious program that propogates itself across your system, can't run on iPads simply because the iPad lacks a file manager that the virus would use to spread itself. In addition most viruses are .exe files, executable files, that simply don't run on the iOS of the iPad.

So you don't need anti-virus. However, you do still need to practice safe internetting. Don't click on dodgy links, be cautious about where you enter your personal info etc.
