Purchased movies not authorized in Quicktime player

Ever sense installing iTunes 11 on OS 10.6.8, the TV shows and movies purchased from iTunes Store will no longer play in Quciktime player X or Quicktime 7 Pro. It keeps asking me to authorize my Macinthosh in iTunes which I have done so several times, with the resulting dialog stating the my computer is already authorized, but a second dialog from Quicktime says that the authorization has failed with a button to try again, which fails everytime you try to authorize and asks again, (with the same dialog box.

I hav de-authorized and reauthorized my mac serveal times, (in iTunes) as well, shows will still not play in Quicktime player X, however, they will play in the iTunes window.

What has happened to the connection for authorization between Quicktime player and purchased movies?

Anyone have a fix for this issue.
