you might want to click on View- show sidebar and View- show statusbar. probably this is what you are looking for. you might also want to go to >songs and on the center up horizontal tab ,click on artist. this should give you a feel of the older version.
hope it helps 🙂

You're a legend! Thanks for this. I tried to uninstall and install an earlier one but didn't work. I can work my way around this new one with these tips. You're a life-saver! 🙂
I tooo hate this new version-why change something good to crap. I used to be able to view my songs as a list along with artist and albums-now it is all crap. Tried the side wiew bla bla bla but where is my old view-crap crap crap
To roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the installer from here, uninstall iTunes. Probably best to also remove other suppporting software, e.g. Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support & Bonjour. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

This is for 32-bit versions of windows. I need an installer for 64-bit. Can you help?
Googled it. Found it. Thanks.
Thank you so much for your knowledge of what to do with this update. Thanks to you I am now up and running with Itunes 10.7 with all of my music +.
Thank you so much for your help on this. 11 is worthless.
Thank you. SO MUCH. 🙂
I couldn't agree more. 11 is terrible. It eliminates some of the organization tools I've utilized (ex. the ability to group videos I've created into albums, and also see video thumnails while in a list format. I also used to love the album cover-flow, which appears to have been eliminated as well). I hate that all the music I've ever downloaded appears in my list as well. I deleted a lot of that music for a reason! I also have multiple computers and devices and don't necessarily want all of my music on everything. Thanks, Apple, for dictating how I have to organize my music! UGH! The new format looks terrible as well. I'm running it on a Mac with Mountain Lion. I wish I could go back to 10. This change makes me want to switch back to PC.
confused a little on this..... so basically RENAME your files something else and move the library? then uninstall - reinstall the old one. then go back to the Renamed library and put it back where it belongs???? 😕
thanks for your help
Thanks so much for this! 🙂 iTunes 11 blows. Got my 10.7 back and running!
Thanks, this was really p---ing me off
Thank you. I got really distressed when I couldn't make iTunes 11 do ANYTHING I wanted including things like "hey, where do I click to see what's on my iPhone? I had an iPhone showing up here a minute ago. How do I get back? ***?!"
Fool me once apple, shame on me, fool me twice, I'll still drink your koolaid, but a third time? iTunes11 was the. last. straw. How on earth do you miss things as blatantly pathetically just plain *wrong* as Maps, or iTunes 11 (for me, personally, iTunes 11 was a bigger failure), especially when you claim you're trying to get back to the "it just works" message.

If you just uninstall iTunes 11 and install iTunes 10.7 then when iTunes starts it will complain that The file "iTunes Library" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. During each iTunes upgrade the current library file is moved to the Previous iTunes Libraries folder, stamped with the date of the upgrade, and then used to construct a new copy of the library that incorporates any new features introduced with the new build. When iTunes starts up it checks an internal version number in the database. If the library was built with an older version of iTunes it is upgraded. If it was built with the current version iTunes opens normally, and if newer you get the error message above.
The rename, copy & rename steps are designed to get the recent version of your library that worked with iTunes 10.7 back into the correct location before you start iTunes 10.7. Note you are copying 1 file and making 2 rename operations.
