Thanks to various contributors here for explaining how to change the "view" on Itunes 11 - slowly getting back to what I like - but I seem to have lost my scroll bar on the right hand side of iTunes - has this happened to anyone else?

I've also lost the "Itunes DJ" where my music would play randomly - I LOVED that!!!

Apple, why are you messing with something good & creating something cr*p???

The missing scroll bar may be a window size/position thing. iTunes 11 seems not to read the screen boundaries properly when you go "Full screen". Use the "Restore window" control and then manually set the size.

iTunes DJ has gone, replaced with "Up Next", which does most of the same things, sort of, or at least can be tricked into doing so...

Thanks tt2 - got the scroll bar back, yay!

And noted re. "Up next" - better than nothing I supposer...

Just one more question please - where do you access the "Restore window" control as I'm not able to find that - sorry! and thanks for your help!

    cheers

It's the one at the top-right between the minimise button and the X that closes the application. Once "restored" the control becomes "Maximise".

Thanks tt2, the manual resizing tip seems to have done the trick - much appreciated!

    HI,

are you able to help me. I too hate itunes 11 but I am loath to do anything about it as I have another problem. I have new(ish) laptop as my old one got destroyed last year. Despite the fact that itunes acknowledges my new pc it has disappeared my original playlist which is unaccesible due to what happened to my old laptop. I cannot find a way to access my original playlists etc & can't sync my ipod touch with my new stuff as I don't want to lose all of my old stuff. Any ideas to help would be gratefully accepted as I am completely computer illiterate. Words of one syllable please, I really am thick when it comes to computers.

Does anyone know if there is any hope of Apple fixing this? This new itunes is horrible. I can't find anything. I try to load music and then look for it to add to playlist and it disappears. I can't see new music that is loaded. This stupid drop down between music and podcast is awful. This is so below the usual apple quality and the reason I am an apple follower in the first place. Please Apple, FIX THIS!

If you were happy(ish) with iTunes 10.7 you can restore most of the look and feel of it with a few simple tweaks. See this post for details, and how to roll back if that is what you want...

Good Gawd! I'm glad I'm not the only one — as a graphic designer, I was like ***? Silver, your fixes have reinstilled order in my life, thank you.

Who the **** designed the new iTunes anayway, someone they poached from Microsoft? Brutal. Too many bottons, too much BS.

New Miniplayer still feels awkward and clunky. Microsoft.

I hate this iTunes. Hate it. This is, undoubtedly the "braun" (not brain) child of some 15-year old at Apple who had to change what works for today's, "I have no attention span and I want to look at pictures." What morons.

I wish someone would invent a counter to iTunes. I am sick of these changes. Now, Justin Bieber spans across the screen as soon as I log on. Idiots.

I want to search for an artist in a header, not find some genre>subgenre>album title>what State I live in>first four letter of artist name>their favorite color> and absolutely no way to type this in.

We can no longer click on the header and organize as we wish: by artist, date, album, etc. No! We get to see music videos and blogs or whatever 15-year-old video gamer freak "invented" this iTunes version and some dummies agreed. Egad!

I am getting rid of this version and going back to the old one. Morons.

Let's fix what is not broken! This is the new we don't have Steve Jobs to care any more iTunes staff motto.

Please, someone! Fire all of them and get some adults in there.

Please, someone else! Get us out of iTunes and their games (change the look, change how much we are going to charge), and come up with an alternative to iTunes. We are sick of this!!!!

Where is the 'view' button I can't find it anywhere?

  • scooby0811 Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

in the top left, the drop down menu icon, there is a show menu bar option, it'll bring back file, view, etc.

to everyone else, thanks so much for all the help. I hate itunes and pretty much most of apple now because of all the things they change.. why change something perfectly good to something EVERYONE hates without asking consumers about how they feel about it?? Iphone 4 was and will definitley be my LAST apple purchase EVER!
