iTunes 11 is far from intuitive -- when in Full Screen mode. What this article doesn't mention is that you really need to not have iTunes in full screen. I just now figured out my problem. After installation, iTunes 11 started in FS (I don't know if I had iT10 in FS last time or not).

Since the menu is hidden by default, I was looking all over for "Authorize this Computer" on the screen, not in the menu.
