I receive emails but when I try to send emails, I get a box that says that the "recipient was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying"

I can receive emails over AOL but cannot send them. When I do, I get a box that says "recipient was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying"

iPhone 5, iOS 5

That's because you did not enter your screen name and password for the outgoing (SMTP) mail server on the phone. Or if you did they got erased. Go to Settings for the account and enter them.
