How to find lost iPhone

Hi

last night I lost my iPhone and the person who took it switched it off.

I have logged into iCloud and activated the erase feature. Only now I came to know that if I do this I can't locate the iPhone further.

is there any way I can reverse this ? cancell the erasing request.

the request is still pending. What this erase function will do ?. will I be able to track the phone using the IMEI number even after this erase. Kinldy confirm
