At some point a while back, I tried to change the filetype on the majority of my library manually. I went to the files' location, double-clicked, and changed the filetype to something. Well, iTunes didn't take too kindly to that and wouldn't play any of them. I would double click a song in iTunes but the time would stay at 0:00. I decided to go in and change all of them back, to see if that would work. It didn't. I really don't know what to do. Please help.

However, if the only solution is to delete the files and redownload them, then forget it. That's way too much of a hassle. I don't even understand why iTunes won't let me change the filetype without blocking me from using it completely. That seems a bit excessive.
