Paired remote still turns volume up on computers

I paired the apple TV remote with the Apple TV so that it doesn't interact with other devices. At least, that was my understanding.

However, it still turns the volume up on my both computers (old MBP with Lion, new MBP with Mountain Lion).

You would need to go into your computers system prefs, security (advanced) and disable the remote control infrared receiver

Thanks. That setting was not obvious like on ATV.
