Can I take panoramic photos with my iPad?

I thought I could take panoramic photos with the camera in my iPad but when I open the camera and click on "options" I don't get the option to take panoramic photos. I read that it was possible on iPad 2 and assumed that it would be an option on the newer iPad with retinal display. I looked in Settings under cameras and couldn't see anything there.

iPad (4th gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 6.0.1, I think it's 6.0.1 (updated today)

Only the iPhone 4S and 5 and the iPod Touch 5 currently have the Panorama feature on iOS 6, none of the iPads do (possibly because it was thought that it is too heavy to hold steady whilst doing it). I think that there might be third-party phoso apps in the store that can do it.
