Whats the better mouse to get? I really like th idea of having a wireless mouse, but does it take up more energy /battery and thus cause more heat? I know it fixes the whine so that is a plus!
Do wired mouses such as the mighty mouse take up battery at all?
I would think the wired mouse takes power albeit small from the notebook. Depending on your preference such as hand size, etc., look at Logitech. They make excellent mice. I have the V270 which is bluetooth. It's a little smaller than normal which is good for travel, the silver color almost matches the MBP, and it has a on/off switch. I really like it.
I bought the bluetooth wireless mouse & keyboard with my iMac. To be honest, I regret it. The mouse is constantly going through batteries, though the keyboard isn't so bad. I should just pop the $50 for a supermouse and be done with it.
I posted a similar question elsewhere regarding wireless options like’ keyboard and mice. So far, I haven’t received any responses but I was considering the Logitech S-530 desktop combo board & mouse. Their keyboard appears to have a nice feature-set whereas the mouse looks pretty basic. Using a mouse is very subjective so it’s hard to know if it really fits your style unless you can at least feel it in your hand. Still, anything from Logitech is much better than Apple any day when it comes to products such as these. Apple simply doesn’t take mice and keyboards very seriously.
Regards,
I opted for the Mighty Mouse, and I really LOVE it. I can set the side 'squeeze' buttons to pull up my Dashboard widgets. I couldn't find a wireless mouse that could do that. Plus, less batteries to worry about... argghh.
Does the Mighty Mouse work with Win XP? If so, are any of the buttons programmable? I have the MBP KVM switched with a Compaq laptop and need to seamlessly switch between the 2. I am currently using an old keyboard and mouse but would like to upgrade to apple equipment if it can function well will Win XP...
My answer is "both." I have a cheap but reliable Kensington wired mouse for home use because it doesn't eat batteries. In my laptop bag I have a MacAlly Bluetooth mouse because it's nice to have no cable constantly getting tangled up in the bag, and I use rechargeable AAs in it.
