Album artwork missing after upgrade to iTunes 11

Hi -


I have just upgraded my iTunes for Mac OS 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion) to version 11.


I spent months and countless hours sorting my library out last year to get it perfect with correct artwork, categorization etc., for each album. For my close to 1500 albums, nearly 60-70 % of the artwork is MISSING from the albums since the upgrade. I am beyond furious about this. Please see screen grabs - I have included album view, playlist view - grid and artist-list, ALL show the same problem of missing artwork.


any ideas?

Note that there's a bug in iTunes 11 surrounding album art; if you click on the songs in the album you'll likely find the artwork is actually still there for each song.


More entertainingly, you may find some of the artwork actually does display on future launches…

Yes, I JUST upgraded to iTunes 11 and NOW I have the same problem.

Artwork appears in my itunes but NOT on my phone. ANYONE know a fix for this?


Also, dragging and dropping art work to individual songs within my phone (when it is connected to itunes) actually shows the artwork IS THERE. But when I play the song on my ipod the art is MISSING.

Is this a BUG?

I wish I had an answer for you, but I don't.


However, I thought I would mention that I have a related problem that I describe here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4587740?answerId=20540385022#20540385022). (The cause was different, but the outcome is the same). You may wish to follow that discussion in case someone has anything to suggest there.
