Upgraded to iTunes 11 over the weekend and now everytime I try adding to a playlist or search library, iTunes just crashes with a spinning wheel. I have to force quit iTunes as it says not responding constantly. I restart and it does the same thing over and over. My iTunes is now unusable. Please help?

I'm having this issue in Windows 8. Everytime I try to drag any album to a playlist, iTunes 11 shows up as not responding in Task Manager.
Come on Apple, please reply. The OP posted a week ago.
Itunes 11 worked well for a few hours then completely locked up my macbook. now it's at the service center to see if they can fix it. seem to be hearing more and more stories of these freezing issues.
UPDATE: Installed some updates to Windows 8 and everything is working fine now.
Must have been a Windows issue.
Same thing is happening on my iMac running 10.8.2, 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5.
I can't even use iTunes very well anymore. It keeps freezing and crashing and I have to restart, and the same thing happens over and over. I'm uber frustrated. 😟
I am suing an iMac as well running 10.7.5 and have the same problems. It is extremely frustrating.
After talking to Apple Support, they suggested I re-install iTunes. Seems I had tried everything but that. My crashing and hanging problems went away!🙂
