Dec 3, 2012 6:49 AM in response to mjsleeperby david.menzel,Please check also:
1. Settings > Privacy > Location Settings "On" and Find My iPhone "On"
2. Settings > General > Restrictions
Maybe something is blocking the "Find My iPhone" service

Dec 3, 2012 6:53 AM in response to david.menzelby mjsleeper,Locations settings are on.
Enabled restrictions to go through the list and nothing relevant is restricted.
Also checked for software update and was current with iOS 6.0.1.
No joy yet.

Dec 3, 2012 6:56 AM in response to mjsleeperby david.menzel,Sorry for asking this stupid questions, but you also used the same apple/iCloud ID in your Settings (Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone) and via www.icloud.com to locate your device?

Dec 3, 2012 7:05 AM in response to mjsleeperby david.menzel,I am sorry but this is all what I can do for you. In my opinion, there are just 3 settings:
1. Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone
2. Settings > Privacy > Location Settings "On" and Find My iPhone "On"
3. Settings > General > Restrictions "Off"
(And of course you need a data connection)
But if you checked them all, and I guess this is the case, then it should work. I'm sorry that I could not do more for you.
I thonk that you also checked this sites:

Dec 3, 2012 6:28 PM in response to mjsleeperby mjsleeper,Finally got "find my phone" to work. I updated to the new iTunes 11 on the computer, turned off iClound backup on the phone and did a full backup to my computer using iTunes. I wiped the phone clean with "reset all content and settings" and went through the setup wizard after the phone rebooted, then restored everything from the iTunes backup. Even my run history in the Nike run app was restored, pretty cool. Tested find my phone on the phone itself and iCloud and it's all good. I wonder if the Verizon tech at the store did something during setup? Oh well.
Onto solving facetime and imessage...
