Buying a Macbook Pro off Amazon, any reasons apple.com is better?

I'm going to purchase my self a Macbook Pro 15inch with Retina for Xmas. Amazon.com has the configuration that I want listed on their site for the same price as apple, but if you order on Amazon.com I don't have to pay Taxes (I think you do on apple.com). That's a few hundred dollar savings.

Is there any benefits from ordering on Apple.com...? I don't see free engraving like with iPads/Pods... So I don't see any reason to order off Apple.com over Amazon.com

No. The warrantee will be honored the same as if you had purchased it from Apple.

You can't customize the order on Amazon.com (ie, change the CPU and RAM, etc.), but otherwise it should be just fine.

If you live in a state where Amazon has a distribution center (AZ, IN, KS, KY, and a few others), you will have to pay tax. Otherwise, everything is exactly the same in terms of support and warranty (spell it right, folks). Just hold on to your invoice on the off chance something should come up.
