I've got a 350 G library on an external drive.  It's nicely organized into files and projects.  I want to put these images on my MBP internal hard drive, and duplicate their organization, but only as referenced images to avoid taking up unnecessary space.  Seems like it should be easy enough, but I can't seem to get it done.

Do I start with Aperture open with the library on the external hard drive and export the images as referenced files, or start with the library on the MBP and import images as referenced files

I know there is a ton written about this, and I've consulted Aperture Manual but still can't figure it out.

Any help greatly appreciated!
