Does the iPod work fine now?

Maybe:

Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)

Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .

Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

Last, try restoring on another computer.

You are really not describing your problem well.

hi, sorry im new to this smart technology, i really havnt a clue and it dosnt help that they just plonk it on your lap and expect you to know what your doing!

when i started up the ipod i went through all the setting up procedures, and then once done it told me that there is an update ready to install already! i mean i only just brought it! surly it dosnt need updating already? anyway so i tried updating it, but for some reason it kept saying it cannot connect to wifi, which is weird as i could access the Internet on it. so i plugged it into the computer, downloaded itunes and it asked if i wanted to do the update on there so i told it to find and install the update and so on, then it said it wanted to restore it to factory settings? so i just clicked yes and it put the ipod into "recovery mode" and started downloading the update which takes 4 hours! so i left it to do it over night, in the mean time i cannot use the devise as its in this recovery mode, in the morning it was complete so i got it to start downloading on the the ipod while i was at work. i get back from work and there is a pop up message saying 'i tunes has detected an ipod which is in recovery mode, you must restore this ipod before it can be used on itunes' well i thought this is what i left it to do anyway?? i thought it was updating my ipod and restoring it, now i still have no ipod i can use and its downloading the software again! thats another 4hours waiting for something im not sure will work? and another 4hours with out use of the devise, which i can live with.....

why is ituned downloading the latest software twice and leaving my ipod in recovery mode? what happend to the first download?
