I cant add music to my iphone in iTunes 11

I was having this exact same problem myself till I figured it out.

1.) With your iPhone plugged in, click on the iPhone button near the top right of iTunes next to iTunes Store.

2.) Click "On This iPhone"

3.) Click "Add To"

4.) Then you can drag music to your phone from your albums, songs list, playlists, etc.

I thought i can just drag music from desktop to iphone. ><... why its so hard.

In the new itunes just drag an Artist, Song etc to the RIGht. A window will open and you can drop it onto your device or playlist.

If you prefer the way of doing things in iTunes 10

Then

View > Show Sidebar

Your device will be int the left hand sidebar as usual and you can drag and drop it

Also, the "add to" button you'll find if you right-click or control-click on the song or album you want to add. Then, as though you're adding to a playlist, add to the device you want to add it to. I hope this helps clear it up a little bit!

Why does apple keep changing the interface for itunes? They think they're being creative but its only confusing the **** out of everyone using it. Stick with the standard/simple interface, its the reason apple became so popular in the first place.

I'm having the same issue as well and it's driving me nuts! Won't show add +icon even with sidebar view and when I use the 'add to' button it still doesn't transfer on to my iphone!

Revert back to the look and feel of itunes 10 by

View > Show Sidebar

View > Show Status Bar

In the search box click on the black arrow and untick Search Entire Library

itunes should now look and work the way you are used to

My itunes is doing the same thing! I've done all that is suggested but it still wont work :/

Ive tried everything that has been discussed but my itunes and iphone completely refuse to talk. I am nearing the end of my patience and either my iphone or mac book or both is going to get smashed at this stage as I'm extremely frustrated ans angry.

PS. anyone out there who has the option of downloading the latest itunes for their computer, don't do it!! All this stress can be avoided

It's doing the same thing to to me I can't add no music to my IPHONE 5 . What is going on someone help me please am dying with no music on this IPHONE!!!

Plug in your iPhone and click to get to the summary of the iPhone where it tells you info like the amount of music and stuff you have. Scroll down to the bottom of the Summary section and at the bottom you'll see an unchecked box marked "manually manage music and videos". Tick this box and you should be able to drag music across and it will sync 🙂 ... You are welcome.

i was having the same problem but only because i have a new iMac and my iphone was synced to my old computers' iTunes. check "manually manage music and videos" and it will ask if you want to sync. you will lose all your old music on your phone but in my case, i will now be able to add music from my new computer. bittersweet if you ask me.

I get a red 'no entry' sign when I try to drag to the phone icon or when I get the old toolbar at the side.

Any idea please?

When in itunes, just drag the file you want to the right - some kind of menu will pop-up. Just drop it into whichever playlist you want. Hope this helps!
