Slow shut down times in 10.8.2

I bought a new 13" retina about two weeks ago, a few days ago i updated from OSX 10.8.1 to 8.2. Since then ive been having very slow shut down times, upto 30 seconds....whereas 10.8.1 i had 1-2 second shutdowns.

Are apple aware of this / are they trying to fix it? or do they simply not see it as a big issue.

Such an expensive 'top-brand' machine shouldnt have this problem, not to mention the fact that this is happening with SSD.

Any insight into what's going on is appreciated.

DL and install the 10.8.2 update and then the supplement. The second one might not be needed, but it should state that if you try to install it.

Tried this, no joy. I dont understand whats going on, i'm getting various shutdown times. It seems like 1/10 I will get a speedy shutdown, otherwise its a 15-30 second job. Doesnt really affect me, just bothers me that I know its happening, when it shouldnt be ! :@

AFAIK, a lot depends on what you've elected to autoresume on restart. That and any cloudy stuff, which I don't use, also affects shutdowns, not to mention startup times. Too much iOSification for me to wrap my head around. Good luck sorting things out.

The fix for me was to close all running applications then tick the box to re-open windows when logging back in (I had it un-ticked before).

The shut down went from >20 seconds to about 1 second!

Now whether this stays fixed is another matter!
