iTunes 11 - Playlist Songs Not Updating w/ Shuffle

Hello, I just updated to iTunes 11, and assumed I could shuffle the songs in a given playlist like in 10. However, this is not working for me...

Steps to reproduce:

1. Go into "Playlists" mode in the upper navigation, and click on a playlist on the left sidebar.
2. Click "Controls" > Shuffle > Turn on Shuffle (by songs)
3. I then press the large 'play' icon in the upper left corner of iTunes.
4. A song starts playing, but the songs do not rearrange randomly in the playlist window. It's exactly the same as when I first entered the playlist.

I tried clicking on the other option to shuffle in the top middle window (with the blue lines criss-crossing), but that didn't do anything. I also tried clicking the shuffle and play icons just below that (where it also shows the playlist name, number of songs and days of music).

In all cases, nothing is making the playlist show the updated songs as they're playing. This is quite confusing, since a song is playing but it's not obviously visible where you would expect....

Am I missing something in the new interface, is this a bug, or what?!
