I can't download iTunes 11. Download doesn't start

I updated my iTunes to 11 and it crashes. I uninstalled and I am trying to reinstall it from a full download. The download link doesn't start the download. All I get is a "Thank you for downloading iTunes" webpage. What's going on? I tried two different browsers.

This seems to be related to the presence of a proxy server between the browser and apple.com. The problem with apple is that they do not provide another option to manually download it instead of the automated download which never starts.
