When I shared videoclips for Youtube thru my iMovie, I got this error message from my iMovie "Alert. The username or password is incorrect."
It seems the new configuration of the “step-2 verification” employed by Google on Youtube account is having conflict issues with iMovie. Can somebody figure out the proper configuration so my username or password of my Youtube account will be accepted by the iMovie? Thanks.

Use your gmail email address and your password for GMail.
This solution helped me in the end, but I think there needs to be an update to iMovie to make the gmail address requirement a lot clearer, because at the moment, it only says "username" above the required box.
Don't forget to change userid to refer to "icloud" instead of "me."
I know this may be old news to some of you, but I was till using my account@me.com for email (it still works) and on many accounts. Biut for some reason Google/YouTube changed my ID for me, and I didn't know. So after much searching and frustration, I tried my account@icloud.com and it worked.
