Ahh. I've scanned so many threads and I've only made my problem worse. I have always synced using iTunes on my Macbook Pro, and was running out of space, so I backed up my pictures and deleted them off my iPhone. Then I noticed I had lots of 'Other' space. I tried deleting my email account off my phone, no difference, so I added it back. I deleted all my text conversations, nope. I restored my phone and the space went UP. From 3. something GB to 4.22GB. I tried someone's idea of Settings> General> Usage> Music and deleting it, it wouldn't let my songs play so I deleted my music and then re-synced it. I have a 16GB iPhone and while I know some software space is needed, 4GB is ridiculous. How can I get this off!!

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.0.1

large amounts of "other" usually indicates corrupt data. Best bet at this point is to transfer purchases, import photos, and then restore as new. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 when thats done, sync everything back over.
