How to erase a .dmg created in disc utility

i think so . but i remember the password i typed ,and it sort of aproves it and the window askin for PW desapears but before completing the action it says what i stated above. so...

i saw a similar problem on another discussion but his wasnt a folder and he was trying to copy a cd in disc utility he said . and when he couldnt do it , a fyle similar to mine apeard , and had a similar problem with it.. the solution he used i tryed it but since it wasnt like the same process it dint work .

the thing is it wont let me move it to trash , it wont even move it just stays in the deskstop , but ill try that out and see, thanks .

i havent been able to do anything with it , ived tryed pretty much everything in the link you provided.

i used this process :

How to Password Protect a Folder on the Mac:

• Open up the “Disk Utility” application
• File -> New -> Disk Image from Folder…
• choose a folder to protect
• choose “AES-128″ encryption and press Save
• Enter your desired new password twice (Do not forget it.)

with the detail that in the image format instead of "read-write" i chose "compressed" ... and there was the beggining of the issue ,

i want to undue that or erase the file that some how i cant ' move, drag to trash, delete in disc utility ,or do anything to it at all eccept view the files ' so .....

i logged as root , but i cnt seem to find " the original" file to delete it , or im not doing something right.

what i did was while logged as root search the file but it provided a copy.

if can how do i delete the whole file using root?.
