backups deleted

having trouble with back up data becomming deleted from time capule.

backup seems to work fine for a week or two then all mac data is lost from time capsule.

Time capsule is 3tb files that are copyed to tc under windows are all ok and have never been lost or damaged.

TC seems to only use about .1 of a tb of disk space.

This problem seems to have started after update to 10.7.5

i did have trouble then starting a backup but installed a up date from apple site to fix airport .

Are you using wireless? Upgrade installed OS on the computer can lead to issues.

Also there is an update to the update for Lion. I think this is what you installed.

The problem is probably just TM is lousy.. use CCC or superduper until Apple decide to put some programmers back doing network or OSX work.

yes it is running wireless.

we have already installed that update.

TC is doing a full 150gb up date now ,i will see how long this data lasts.

should i or is it possible to do a clean or re formatt of the TC ?

could there be damaged sectors on the unit ,it is abt 8 months old.

You can just erase the TC..

You can also verify the sparsebundle.

Large backups over wireless IMHO are more the issue than bad hard disk sectors.

An update should be relatively small.. a couple of hundred MB up to 1GB .. a 150GB update is I hope a full backup.
