Ipod shows no music even though music is shown in music category under ipod device list

Dear Community,

I have an ipod which had a canceled sync in itunes 10. After upgrading to itunes 11, the ipod shows music in itunes device list view but not on pod itself. Syncing does not help. I have some music on it which is not on the mac after a few change of machines over the last two years, so that is why I need to get the music off. I've tried some third party solutions but they have not been successful save one which saw the music but copying gave zero byte value.

Please help,

Randall

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Unsync all music and resync (from your description it is not clear you did that)

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
